Standards of metal hoses

European and international Standards

EN ISO 10380*
Pipework - Corrugated metal hoses and hose assemblies (2012)
This International Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, manufacture, testing and installation of corrugated metal hoses and metal hose assemblies.

EN ISO 10806*
Pipework - Fittings for corrugated metal hoses (2003)
This International Standard specifies the characteristics of fittings for corrugated metal hoses conforming to with the requirements of ISO 10380 and is also valid for other fittings provided they meet the material, design, assembly and test requirements specified herein.

EN ISO 10807*
Pipework - Corrugated flexible metallic hose assemblies for the protection of electrical cables in explosive atmospheres (1996)
This International Standard specifies the design characteristics of corrugated flexible metal hoses which can be used to protect electrical wire and cable in explosive atmospheres or atmospheres where there is a risk of fire. It also provides instructions for the use of these hoses and the tests required for type approval.

EN 13480-3
Metallic industrial piping. Part 3: Design and calculation (2017)
Part 3 of his harmonised European Standard specifies requirements for the design and calculation of industrial piping manufactured from steels.Additional requirements are given for the use of corrugated metal hose assemblies in piping systems.

EN 14420
Hose fittings with clamp units (2013)
Part 6: TW tank truck couplings
Part 7: Cam locking couplings
These European Standards specify requirements for design, dimensions and materials for hose couplings applicable for elastomer and plastic hoses. These couplings are also usable for metal hoses.

EN 14585*
Corrugated metal hose assemblies for pressure applications (2006)
This harmonised European Standard specifies the requirements for material, design, manufacturing, testing and documentation for corrugated metal hose assemblies with a maximum allowable pressure PS greater than 0,5 bar.

EN 14800*
Corrugated safety metal hose assemblies for the connection of domestic appliances using gaseous fuels (2007)
This European Standard contains the product characteristics to achieve safe operation of corrugated metal gas hose assemblies by specifying the requirements of performance, materials and test methods. The corrugated metal gas hose assemblies are suitable for the connection of domestic appliances inside or outside a dwelling, using gas at a pressure lower than 0,5 bar.

EN 15266*
Stainless steel pliable corrugated tubing kits in buildings for gas with an operating pressure up to 0,5 bar (2007)
This European Standard specifies the requirements for material, design, manufacture, testing, marking and documentation of stainless steel pliable corrugated gas tubing kits for buildings with a maximum operating pressure (MOP) up to 0,5 bar and a nominal size range from DN 10 to DN 50 used for 1st, 2nd and 3rd family gases in residential, commercial and industrial gas installations.

EN ISO 15465*
Pipework - Stripwound metal hoses and hose assemblies (2004)
This International Standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of four principal types of stripwound metal hose and hose assemblies. These hoses and hose assemblies may be supplied in nominal sizes from DN 6 to DN 500 and may operate at temperatures up to 600 °C dependent on materials and construction.

EN 16617*
Pipework - Corrugated metal hose assemblies for combustible gas - Performance requirements, testing and marking (2015)
This European Standard specifies general requirements for material, design, manufacture, testing, marking and documentation of corrugated metal hose assemblies for gas of diameter up to DN 300 for gases of the 2nd and 3rd families according to EN 437.

EN 1736
Refrigerating systems and heat pumps. Flexible pipe elements, vibration isolators, expansion joints and non-metallic tubes - Requirements, design and installation (2008)
This European Standard describes requirements for design and installation of flexible pipe elements.

EN ISO 21012
Cryogenic vessels - Hoses (2018)
This document specifies design, construction, type and production testing, and marking requirements for non-insulated cryogenic flexible hoses used for the transfer of cryogenic fluids within the following range of operating conditions:
- working temperature: from -270 °C to +65 °C;
- nominal size (DN): from 10 to 100.

EN ISO 7369*
Pipework - Metal hoses and hose assemblies - Vocabulary (2004)
This trilingual International Standard defines current terms concerning metal hoses, metal hose assemblies and component parts. It applies to stripwound and corrugated metal hoses and hose assemblies.

National Standards

DIN 2827 (Germany)
Hose assemblies of stainless steel for chemical products (2006)
This German Standard specifies requirements for design, manufacture, testing, and monitoring of annular corrugated hoses and braided hose assemblies made from stainless steel. The hose assemblies are rated for a maximum allowable pressure up to 25 bar and a maximum allowable temperature of 300 °C, preferably intended for conveying chemicals in the gaseous, vaporous or liquid state.

DIN 3384 (Germany)
Hose assemblies of stainless steel for gas (2007)
This German Standard is valid for metal gas hose assemblies of stainless steel for pipes not buried in earth up to DN 300 with a maximum operation pressure (MOP) of 16 bar. It specifies requirements for safety, testing and test procedures, and marking.
